When I reached out to local skateboard communities,
Joshua from Skate Nation Ghana immediatley put his
hands up and provided me with a glimpse of the small
but growing skateboard crew in Accra and their plans
for their first ever skatepark called Freedom.
Joshua is full of confidence and I guess that is what you
need when starting a foundation teaching kids how to
skateboard in a country that does not enjoy any
government support.
Joshua Ganyobi Odamtten
Hi Joshua. How are you doing? For people that do not know Ghana,
can you describe your country and its people in a few words?
My country is one of the most peaceful places on earth & the people
here are so kind & friendly.
I need to ask you an obvious queson but how is Ghana coping with
Covid19?
I must say we are blessed because the infecon rate & death rate is low
because of heat & high temperature.
Before we talk about skateboarding your Insta account says that you
are a ‘movie character’. Do you act?
Yes I do act but not any more.
Also it says you design fashion. What are you currently working on?
I am currently teaching skang and on hold with fashion at the
moment.
